I made this 3-Ingredient Buffalo Chicken Dip for a watch party at our house and everyone was shocked when I told them it was Whole30-approved! It’s the ultimate football food or party appetizer.

Who doesn’t love buffalo chicken anything? It’s the perfect balance of heat and cool creaminess, all in one crowd-friendly format. Plus, this recipe might just be the easiest ever. All you need is shredded, cooked chicken (I like to use a rotisserie chicken for this!), mayonnaise, and hot sauce — plus a little salt and pepper. It takes about five minutes to prep, which makes it great for last-minute gatherings. Pop it in the oven to bake until it’s hot and bubbly, then serve with an assortment of fresh cut veggies, pita bread, crackers, and chips on the side for dipping and scooping. This dip is delicious and an appetizer that all of your guests will love (Whole30 or not) for game day or any gathering.
ingredients:
- Shredded, Cooked Chicken
- Mayonnaise
- Hot Sauce
- Kosher Salt
- Freshly Ground Black Pepper
step-by-step:
step one: preheat the oven
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
step two: combine the ingredients
In a medium bowl, add all of the ingredients and mix until well combined.
step three: transfer to a baking dish
Spoon the chicken mixture into a 1-quart baking dish.
step four: bake until bubbly
Bake, uncovered, until hot and bubbly, about 20 minutes.
step five: serve and enjoy!
Remove from oven and serve with fresh cut veggies and/or crackers. Enjoy!

You can prepare the dip through step three up to 24 hours in advance, but I’d wait to bake it off until you’re ready to serve. Be sure to cover it and store it in the refrigerator if you’re not baking immediately.
I like to use rotisserie chicken for ease, but you can also use leftover chicken breasts!
I hope y’all enjoy this 3-Ingredient Buffalo Chicken Dip at your next watch party, game day tailgate, or any other gathering!

Love this dip! I trade out the mayo for greek yogurt and add some Bubbies pickles, and it’s a hit every single time! Thank you for all of your amazing recipes!
This is excellent and so easy to make! Highly recommend for a game watch! I topped with a slice of Provolone cheese and it was delicious 🙂
Um, looks like there’s cheese, but not in ingredients? Looking for which kind to add and amounts!
no cheese here 🙂 But feel free to top with a little shredded cheddar!
This is my go-to for a crowd pleasing appetizer! It is INCREDIBLY easy for how good it tastes and people are always shocked when I tell them how few ingredients it requires.
This recipe is not a dip….its just chicken with buffalo sauce and mayo…..its seriously lacking something.
This sounds delicious. Would it hold up if it was frozen?
The Mayo doesn’t freeze well, so I don’t think it would
Added 1 Tbsp of dill. Brought out that pickle aftertaste, like when eating a Buffalo chicken samich 😉
Yum!
Could you put this in a mini crockpot? Or would you recommend baking instead?
Yes it would be great in a mini crockpot!! Since crockpots get hot so fast– I’d just set it to keep warm, until the dip is warmed throughout.
This is my husband’s absolute favorite app – it’s delicious and it’s healthyish and it’s SO easy! Thank you!
My wife woke up this morning and said, “be sure to thank Snodgrass for that delicious buffalo chicken dip” so here I am to say thank you!!
