Just in time for the holiday season — my Tequila Espresso-Orange Martini!
Y’all know I love an Espresso Martini, so I decided to bring my love for those plus tequila together with this Tequila Espresso-Orange Martini! This cocktail is perfectly decadent to have as a liquid dessert while entertaining this holiday season, but they are also fun to kick off the night with! Here, I’ve served mine with orange zest and shaved chocolate for an added treat but feel free to serve as you desire. And if you prefer vodka, you could definitely try my classic Espresso Martini, but I encourage you to try this tequila version as well — it is so good! Cheers!
Tequila Espresso-Orange Martini
Ingredients
- 1 ounce Cointreau
- 3 ounces blanco tequila (I like LALO Tequila)
- 1 ounce coffee liqueur
- 1 ounce Simple Syrup
- 3 ounces hot espresso
Optional Garnish:
- Shaved chocolate
- Orange zest
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the Cointreau, tequila, simple syrup, and hot espresso. Fill with ice. Close, seal, and shake until very cold (at least 20 seconds).
- Place a strainer on top of the shaker and pour the contents through a sieve (optional) directly into two glasses. Top with shaved chocolate and orange zest as desired.

So good!! But mine isn’t foamy on top, any suggestions?
I had the exact same issue. It was delicious, but not super foamy so the garnish didn’t look so hot.
Coffee needs to be freshly made with a crema ( espresso) This helps the aeration.
