A few years back I shared this simple, crowd-pleasing appetizer for Cranberry Brie Bites on my Instagram stories and y’all were so excited that I decided it needed a place on the blog!

Think of these sweet-meets-savory bites as mini versions of that delightful pastry-wrapped brie that everyone adores so much at holiday parties. It’s just as easy to make, beautiful, and ever so delicious. It’s just a good old-fashioned appetizer that is perfect for the holidays!
ingredients:
- Cooking Spray
- Frozen Puff Pastry
- Brie Cheese
- Spicy Cranberry Jelly
- Chopped Hazelnuts
step-by-step:
step one: prep the muffin tins
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly spray a mini muffin tin with cooking spray.
step two: cut the puff pastry
Lay the thawed puff pastry out across a cutting board. Cut the dough into 3 equal sections, then cut 4 even squares from each piece. You should have 12 pieces total.
step three: shape the puff pastry
Gently press each pastry square into 12 cavities in the prepared muffin tin to create small baskets for the brie and jelly.
step four: prep the brie cheese
Cut the brie into 12 (1/2-inch) squares. Place one square of cheese in each tin.
step five: add the jelly and nuts
Add 1 teaspoon of spicy cranberry jelly on top of the cheese in each pastry cup. Top with the chopped hazelnuts.
step six: bake and serve
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until pastry dough is golden and brie has melted. Serve warm.

Yes! These are a great make-ahead option. I would prepare them through Step 5 but wait to bake them off until you’re ready to serve.
You can use regular cranberry jelly, fig jam, or even wild blueberry jam, all of which would pair so well with the brie.
I hope y’all make these Cranberry Brie Bites part of your holiday gatherings this year! Let me know what you think of this recipe in the comments below.

I’m about to make these post-Thanksgiving! Haha. I don’t have a mini cupcake tin, however. Would you recommend a time for baking with regular size cupcake tins?
If I can’t get spicy cranberry jelly. What would be the best option to add spice to regular cranberry jelly?
regular cranberry jelly, a fig jam, or anything like that works great here!
Made this for appetizer for christmas dinner, was a huge hit’ I substituted walnuts for macadamia but still turned out great!!
I made these at Thanksgiving and have they’ve been requested by family multiple times since then! I subbed the cranberry jelly for a sweet onion chutney (Aldi) So easy, elegant and tasty!! Thank You!
Hi! I know these are probably best served warm but could there be served cold? Would love to take these to work for a Christmas baking event.
yes they are still pretty good at room temp!
These were a big hit today! I had to sub the jelly I used & they still turned out great. Thank you!!
How can I make these gluten free? Have you found a good gluten free puff pastry?
Trader Joes has a pretty good one!!
Could these be made ahead of time? if so, how far ahead?
Hi! yes– you could stuff them, cover with plastic wrap and have them ready to pop into the oven!
These sound amazing and like I wouldn’t be able to stop eating them! Could I use Camembert cheese?
certainly!
Hey Alex! Is the “spicy” part of the cranberry jelly necessary, or is regular cranberry jelly cool to use too? (Having a hard time finding spicy cranberry jelly). Thanks!
yes, regular jelly is just fine! I usually do half the batch with plain for my kiddos!
