Summer hosting should be simple and delicious, and this sangria is exactly that. When I am hosting, I like to have as many items prepped ahead of time so I can enjoy my guests. One simple way I do this is by making a batched cocktail that can be prepped in advance! This Summer Rosé Sangria needs some chill time for the flavors to meld, so it is great to make the night before or the morning of your event.

And y’all, the flavor in this? Delicious! I know sangria can be a little sweet for some, but I find this recipe perfectly balanced with the fresh fruit, basil, and honey. Plus, topping it off with sparkling water helps cut through any additional sweetness!

Ingredients:

  • Dry Rosé Wine
  • Cointreau or Orange Liqueur
  • Honey or Agave
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Fresh Peaches
  • Fresh Orange
  • Fresh Basil Leaves
  • Sparkling Water or Club Soda
  • Ice

Recipe Step-by-Step:

Step One: combine the base

Combine the rosé, Cointreau, honey, strawberries, peaches, orange slices, and basil in a large pitcher.

Step Two: refrigerate

Stir well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight — the longer it sits, the better the fruit infuses.

Step Three: garnish and serve

When ready to serve, fill a wine glass with ice and pour the sangria mixture about ¾ of the way full. Top off with a splash of sparkling water and garnish with extra basil and fruit.

can I make this in advance?

Absolutely! I recommend letting this chill for at least 4 hours, but ideally overnight. So prep ahead of your gathering to make hosting even simpler!

I can’t find peaches yet — can I use frozen?

Yes! You could use about 1 1/2 to 2 cups of frozen if needed. Add them to the sangria mixture frozen, then allow them to thaw as the flavors meld in the fridge. And even if they are still pretty cold, they work as a flavorful ice alternative to cool your drink when serving!

I can’t wait for y’all to try this Summer Rosé Sangria at your next gathering! Comment below once you try it, and tag me @thedefineddish on Instagram so I can see your creations!
