Cajun Cheddar Snack Mix

Total Time30 minutes
Servings: 12

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cheddar crackers or Cheez Its
  • 3 cups mini pretzels
  • 3 cups bagel chips
  • 2 cups oyster crackers
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 4 teaspoons Creole seasoning, divided (see note)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • In a very large mixing bowl, combine the cheddar crackers, mini pretzels, bagel chips, and oyster crackers and gently toss until well combined.
  • In a small, microwave safe bowl heat the butter in the microwave in increments of 30 seconds until just melted. Add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and 3 teaspoons of creole seasoning and whisk until well combined.
  • Pour the butter mixture over the crackers and gently mix until the crackers are evenly coated in the butter mixture. It’s a little messy, but clean hands (or wearing kitchen gloves) are the best tool here.
  • Transfer the crackers to the prepared baking sheet and spread into a single layer. Sprinkle with the remaining 1 teaspoon creole seasoning. Transfer to the oven and bake until the crackers have absorbed the butter mixture and are lightly toasted, about 5 minutes.
  • Let cool completely, then store in an airtight container on the counter for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Creole Seasoning: If you have any guests who are sensitive to spice (aka kids), I recommend using Ranch seasoning (use 3 tbsp total; majority in the butter mixture then save just a small bit to sprinkle over the top before baking) instead of the Creole seasoning. My favorite Creole seasoning is Tony Chachere’s, and it has a little kick to it!
